FOUNTAINS  (2024, ongoing experiments) various locations. Concrete, aluminum, the hydrologic cycle, and the tidal cycle.

I cast the hands of people I know and asked them to pose as if they were holding water - replicating this daily gesture we all make when washing our face, drinking, or bathing. I took these fountain objects for field tests in northern Portugal, experimenting with rock anchoring, wave interaction, and color/site compositions. As the tide rises or rain falls, these temporary public sculptures serve as fountains. At other times, they wait for water. Taking inspiration from the complex gravity-fed fountains of Rome Italy, Iā€™m interested in sculpture that takes part in natural water cycles.
